Latvia Passport Access in 2026

Latvia’s Golden Visa program offers a long-term pathway to Latvian citizenship and a passport. The Latvian passport provides access to 212 of the world’s 227 destinations. That’s 93.4% of all worldwide destinations. This represents access to 99.4% of global GDP and 99.4% of the world’s most visited travel destinations, based on international visitor arrivals.

A Latvian passport reaches a high percentage of the world. This access breaks down into four main categories.

• 151 destinations fully visa-free
• 24 with visa on arrival
• 4 with a simple electronic travel authorization (eTA)
• 33 with an eVisa – straightforward online access that most passport indices ignore.

That leaves just 15 destinations in the world that require a traditional visa application – the slow route of sending your passport away, booking appointments, or queuing at an embassy or visa center.

Latvia Golden Visa: Residency by Investment

Latvia offers one of the most cost-effective Golden Visa programs in the European Union. From a minimum investment of €50,000 into a Latvian company, plus a one-off €10,000 donation to the Latvian government and applicable fees, investors can obtain a five-year Latvian residency permit granting EU Schengen travel. Citizenship can be applied for after ten years of residence, provided the applicant has resided in Latvia for the majority of this period. Latvia does not offer a direct citizenship by investment route.
