Panama Investor Visa

Panama offers a residency visa to investors making a minimum investment of $40,000. The golden visa investment needs to be made into an official reforestation project. In return the investor, spouse and dependent children will be offered a residency visa and may eventually qualify for citizenship.

Permanent Residency

There are several ways to gain a Permanent Residency in Panama via investment. The lowest cost option is an $80,000 investment into a reforestation project certified by the government. Investors must also own five hectares of titled land. Temporary residency will be granted initially, followed by PR a year later.

Panama’s Permanent Residency via real estate investment route is also very popular. Applicants must purchase real estate at or above $300,000, plus fees. La Vida offers several real estate projects which will qualify for the programme. The minimum amount is increasing to $500,000 after 16 October 2022.

Citizenship by Investment

Citizenship by investment in Panama is not possible directly through this programme. However the investor and their family can apply for citizenship after five years of permanent residency in Panama.

Alternative Programs

The issue with the Panama programme is that it requires permanent residency in the country in order to then apply for citizenship and a passport. The process will therefore take a minimum of five years. La Vida offers other official and established programs such as St Lucia and Antigua that offer immediate citizenship and a second passport without the need to reside. See a selection of some of our programmes below.
