La Vida Investment Migration Forum 2026

Last week, the La Vida team attended the Investment Migration Forum 2026 in Paris, one of the industry’s most important annual gatherings, hosted by the Investment Migration Council (IMC). La Vida has been attending the event every year since the first such forum in Geneva in 2016.  Representing La Vida this year were CEO Paul Williams, COO Daniel Twomey, alongside senior consultants Eileen, Rebecca, Richard and Lukas.

The event brought together government representatives, industry leaders, legal experts, licensed agents, fund managers and service providers from around the world to discuss the future of investment migration and global mobility.

As one of the industry’s leading investment migration firms, La Vida places significant value on attending international events such as these. Direct engagement with governments, program operators and industry professionals allows our team to stay at the forefront of legislative developments, identify emerging opportunities for clients and maintain the highest standards of expertise and due diligence.

Exploring France’s Talent Passport Visa

With this year’s forum taking place in Paris, discussions naturally opened with a focus on France and its immigration offerings.

While France does not have a traditional Golden Visa or Residency by Investment program, delegates explored the country’s existing business investment route, commonly known as the Talent Passport Visa. This pathway enables qualifying investors and entrepreneurs to obtain French residency through a business investment of at least €300,000.

As demand for European mobility solutions continues to evolve, the French Talent Passport remains an attractive option for entrepreneurs seeking access to one of Europe’s largest economies.

The Growing Importance of Talent and Merit-Based Migration

Beyond investment migration, a recurring theme throughout many discussions was the growing popularity of talent and merit-based immigration pathways.

As governments compete to attract entrepreneurs, innovators, highly skilled professionals and business leaders, an increasing number of countries are expanding programs designed to reward economic contribution, expertise and entrepreneurial achievement. Many industry experts believe these pathways will continue to play a larger role alongside traditional investment migration options in the years ahead, creating new opportunities for globally mobile individuals and families.

Growing Interest in Panama

Another major topic of conversation throughout the forum was Panama’s Qualified Investor Immigration Program (QIIP).

Already established as one of the most attractive residency-by-investment options globally, Panama is particularly popular amongst US investors due to the nations close proximity. Industry discussions suggested that demand could increase significantly in the coming months, with several exciting enhancements to the program reportedly under consideration.

While official details have yet to be confirmed, Panama continues to attract attention from investors seeking a stable jurisdiction, favourable tax policies and a strategic gateway between North and South America.

The La Vida team will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as further announcements are made.

Caribbean Leaders Highlight the Future of Investment Migration

The Caribbean also remained firmly in the spotlight, with several influential keynote sessions featuring government representatives and regional leaders.

Particular highlights included:

  • Caribbean Government Roundtable: Trust, Sovereignty & the Future of Citizenship by Investment
  • Keynote Address: Small States, Global Impact: The Strategic Role of Investment Migration

These discussions explored the evolving role of Citizenship by Investment programs in supporting economic development, strengthening national resilience and fostering international partnerships.

The sessions reinforced the importance of transparency, compliance and sustainable growth within the investment migration industry – principles that remain central to La Vida’s approach when advising clients.

Building Relationships That Benefit Our Clients

Beyond the conference sessions, the forum provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners and establish new relationships with government officials, program representatives and industry specialists from across the globe.

These face-to-face interactions are invaluable. They allow our team to gain first-hand insights, discuss program developments directly with decision-makers and strengthen the global network that supports our clients throughout their investment migration journeys.

Events such as the Investment Migration Forum ensure that La Vida remains at the forefront of industry developments, legislative changes and emerging opportunities. By maintaining strong relationships with governments, industry bodies and trusted partners worldwide, we are able to provide our clients with informed, up-to-date guidance based on direct industry engagement rather than second-hand reporting.

We would like to thank the Investment Migration Council, the organisers, speakers and attendees for another outstanding event and look forward to continuing these important conversations throughout the year.
