Namibia does not offer a direct citizenship by investment program. Naturalisation is possible but lengthy, requiring ten years of residency followed by a further ten years of permanent residency, a total timeline of twenty years.

For investors seeking a second passport, Caribbean countries such as Dominica offer citizenship by investment, granting a second citizenship within a matter of months. Grenada, Antigua And Barbuda, St Lucia and St Kitts And Nevis offer comparable routes, with processing running four to eight months.

Namibia Residency By Investment

Namibia’s residency by investment program requires real estate investment in an approved project, the President’s Links Estate, a residential and golf development built on eco-friendly principles. The minimum purchase is $316,000.

The program grants a renewable five-year residence permit, and investors can apply for permanent residency after ten years of residency. It was launched to attract foreign investment from international investors and businesses in support of economic growth.

Namibia Passport and Strength Ranking

Namibia ranks 135th of 199 on the La Vida Passport Value Index. The Namibian passport reaches 114 of the world’s 227 destinations without a prior visa, representing 16.0% of world GDP and 27.6% of global travel measured by international visitor arrivals.

Namibian nationals require advance visas for the United States, the United Kingdom, the Schengen Area, China and Japan. Those five destinations account for most of the gap between the destination count and the 16.0% economic reach.

This ranking sits well below the Caribbean nations offering second citizenship programs. Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment program ranks 65th on the Index with 186 destinations, 58.8% of world GDP and 80.1% of global travel. Grenada sits 63rd with 179 destinations and 59.6% of world GDP, close to four times the economic reach a Namibian passport provides alone.
