CAPE VERDE CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT
Although there is no official citizenship by investment programme in Cape Verde, according to Cape Verde’s Citizenship Act 2003, individuals who make a sizable investment may be granted citizenship without the need to reside. Several sources suggest the investment must be upwards of $200,000 or more, however, official information is limited. With this in mind, investors are advised to consider more established CBI programmes. They include several offered by Caribbean nations, including St Kitts and Grenada citizenship.
CAPE VERDE RESIDENCY BY INVESTMENT
It is not easy to get permanent residency in Cape Verde. There are two options permanent (valid for up to 5 years) and temporary (valid for 12 months). More accessible investor visa programmes are available in other countries. One such programme in Europe is the Spanish Golden Visa programme. Launched in 2013, an investment of €500,000 in real estate will gain Spanish residency for the full family. After five years it is possible to then gain permanent residency and after 10 years citizenship.
