Singapore currently lacks a direct citizenship-by-investment programme. Nevertheless, the acquisition of citizenship is feasible through residency, and various residency investment pathways are accessible. The Global Investor Programme (GIP) in Singapore targets High Net Worth (HNW) individuals interested in investing in a business or one of the GIP-approved funds. This entails making an investment of at least SGD 2.5 million in either a new business entity, the expansion of an existing business operation, or a GIP-approved fund. Following two years of permanent residence in Singapore, one can apply for citizenship. However, it is crucial to note that Singapore strictly adheres to a single-citizenship policy, requiring each applicant to renounce all existing citizenships before naturalization becomes possible.
