Latvia Second Passport Investment

Latvia passport holders benefit from visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 196 countries and territories globally, signifying extensive coverage at 86.3% of all destinations worldwide. This access also corresponds to 80.3% of the world’s wealth measured by GDP and contributes to a travel popularity of 91.7% based on international visitors. The Latvian passport holds a notable position, ranking 33rd in the comprehensive Global Passport Ranking meticulously conducted by La Vida. La Vida’s unique passport ranking methodology goes beyond a simple tally of destinations. By incorporating criteria such as GDP and Travel Popularity, we evaluate the “quality” of these destinations.

The significance of combining a second passport with your existing one is often overlooked when choosing an investor visa program. Your existing passport already provides access to numerous visa-free travel destinations. When obtaining a second passport, it is crucial to ensure that the supplementary advantages align with your current travel privileges. Mere duplication of visa-free destinations provides no concrete advantage. La Vida’s Passport Investment Report goes beyond a simple count of destinations; it evaluates your unique combination, identifying the passport that best aligns with your travel profile and current passport. Whether GDP is crucial for your frequent business trips or Travel Popularity is significant for leisure and vacations, our report caters to your specific requirements. This invaluable service, accompanied by a thorough analysis, is exclusively provided by La Vida at no cost to our clients.

While Latvia does not have a direct citizenship-by-investment programme, foreign nationals can seek citizenship after 10 years of residence, providing  they resided in Latvia for the majority of this time. If your end goal is Latvian Citizenship, then you could initially consider applying for residency through Latvia’s Golden Visa programme by investing €50,000 in a Latvian company. The company must also pay a minimum of €40,000 in taxes annually. Successful applicants will be granted a residency permit which is renewable every five years.
