Despite the Irish Government closing its popular Residency by Investment programme back in February with immediate effect, an extension has been granted to one of the main investment funds in the industry. Regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, this low-risk investment fund has been granted special permission to continue processing applicants for Ireland’s Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) until 31st December 2023. Interested parties must act quickly, as the programme typically has a processing time of around four-six months, which leaves limited time to initiate your application.
The Irish Immigrant Investor Programme (IIIP) has many benefits and is particularly attractive to those who may be considering relocating to Ireland. The country has a booming economy as well as many career and education opportunities. Ireland is also ranked as one of the top ten wealthiest countries in the world, in terms of GDP per capita, and the Irish passport is one of the strongest in the world with visa-free access to 199 countries and territories worldwide. Applicants must make a minimum investment of €1,000,000 into an approved fund which will be held for a minimum of 3-5 years. You are allowed to live full-time in Ireland if you wish, but to maintain the residency visa you only need to spend one day per year in Ireland. However, if Irish Citizenship is your end goal, then following five years of full-time residency in Ireland, investors can then apply for Irish citizenship and a passport.
