Not only that, but individuals can also obtain citizenship for the whole family.

Citizenship can be obtained in different ways such as naturalisation or by marriage. This can be achieved in 3 to 6 months.

Here at La Vida we can help you through all the steps for obtaining a Caribbean passport: from selecting the appropriate programme and country to invest and preparing all background information to all due diligence checks required in order to fulfil investment conditions.

Caribbean Citizenship by Investment FAQ

How much does Caribbean citizenship and passport cost?

Each individual country offers different prices for investment. These can vary depending on whether you are donating to a government fund, investing in real estate or a government bond. The lowest investment on offer start from USD$100,000. Currently there are several excellent fee reductions on offer from some countries. If you would like to take advantage of the current low prices, please do contact our specialists.

Which Caribbean Citizenship is best?

This really depends on the individual, their family, where they are from and the type of investment. Dominica and St Lucia are popular for single applicants. Antigua is popular for families. It also depends on visa-free access requirements. Dominica has visa free access to China for example. Grenada holds an E2 visa waiver with the USA although residency is now required by the US to take advantage of this. Dominica and Grenada both have some attractive real estate options and St Kitts offers an attractive discount currently for families.

Which Caribbean country is the easiest in which to gain citizenship?

No one country is easier than the others if you are considering the citizenship by investment route. Some countries have faster processing times, which may be important, but the due diligence requirements from all five countries are very similar and of a very high standard.

How do I get a Caribbean passport by investment?

A Caribbean passport is a passport offered by one of the 15 countries within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Five of these countries offer citizenship through investment and hence a passport. The “Caribbean” can not offer a passport as it is not a country.

How many countries can one visit with a Caribbean passport?

Each passport of course is different. It depends which country issues the passport as to where one can travel visa free, based on that country’s negotiated visa free arrangements. However, the minimum visa free access is 120 countries and many of the islands have commonality in their visa free access arrangements. The UK and European Schengen Zone for example can be accessed visa free by all five passports.
