The government of Albania looks set to announce a citizenship by investment programme in the coming months. It follows a decision on 29 July 2022 by the government to establish a working group at the Interior Ministry that will work on outlining the programme.

Albania a country very much closed to outside influence and investment for decades appears to be opening up its economy and offering investment opportunity for international investors keen to gain residency or citizenship in the country which lies on the edges of Europe.

Details on the Albanian golden visa programme are yet to be revealed but once available La Vida will be looking closely at the benefits for our clients. An Albanian passport offers visa free travel to 130 countries worldwide. Those countries represent 35.2% of world GDP and 60.8% of international travel.
